Crossfit games are upon us. If you don’t know what that means check out www.crossfit.com/games. It should explain the step by step process. I registered for the open, not necessarily to compete for the fittest in the world, but just to take my shot at proving to myself that every day I am better than the day before. Which is my goal on a daily basis. The open consists of 5 workouts, released once a week of the next 5 weeks. Top 60 males and top 60 females in each region will be chosen to go to regionals. All workouts must be submitted via video or validated at an affiliate. 12.1 wod ( workout of the day) was 7 minutes of burpees; complete as many rounds as possible. Chest to deck and jump ad touch a target 6 inches above your highest finger tip reach. No beating the tape measure on this one. My first attempt landed me 79 and I could say I knew what 7 minutes of continuous burpees felt like… In a moment of weakness for some unfortunate reason I agreed to retry my 12.1 wod again 3 days after my first attempt. I landed 86 this time. Now I know what that feels like twice and won’t be beating down any doors to land a third time. Next open wod will be announced on Wednesday. Stay tuned to see just how many people can be better than the first week. Results can be checked at crossfit.com. This post was made for @carey1216
In support of @carey1216’s 30 by thirty list, I have agreed to run a half marathon with her in seattle, Washington. This is a daunting commitment for me as I hate to run… However, as we pack our bags for Mexico, nothing brings me more joy than packing my headphones and running shoes to follow through with this commitment.
What brings me slightly more joy than that is that this is the plan of every spence member on the trip.
Supporting health and wellness as a family.
Here is to a new year and following through with our commitments and the support of a family as strong as a mountain.
I give my dog a Mohawk… So this is booradley and this is her boohawk. Matches her personality.
I just got off of work and got home. Currently I am juggling a lot of extra curriculars; from my obsession w crossfit to my looking for jobs, pursuit my passions and working on the house , in hopes that It is ready when we return from Mexico on the 16th of January. I stay pretty busy. I am training for a half marathon with my sister because I will support her to the depths of the sea… With that being said, I have forgotten to log the last two runs. Off to bed early early start tomorrow!
